The Sims 4 has been out for a number of years and let’s be real, pregnancy has never been detailed enough. I’m still waiting on a great pregnancy update to come to the game, but I’m not going to hold my breath.
This is why I’m so grateful that modders exist to make the game more fun and way more interesting. These 10 mods are going to make your sim’s pregnancy way more detailed and keep you on your toes a little bit more instead of being bored and waiting for the baby to come.
We finally have a working period mod in The Sims 4! Thanks to Turbodriver, the creator of Wicked Whims, our sims can experience the same pain we go. We finally have a working period mod in The Sims 4! Thanks to Turbodriver, the creator of Wicked Whims, our sims can experience the same pain we go through each month. Note: The version I used in the video is 3.2.4.122a. Turbodriver recently updated for Laundry Day Stuff. To access this mod, you have to create an account on the mod's website. And then you can download all you want. Tell us afterwards if it was worth it. With Wicked Whims, the characters you create will also be able to become naturists, and if you have the expansion The Sims 4: Get Together – also exhibitionists. And once you get down on it. Sims on their Period will experience hormonal side-effects and menstrual bleeding. Similarly, Sims during their PMS will just experience hormonal side-effects. Hormonal Side-Effects are moodlets that involve things like being nauseous, irritated, dizzy, oversensitive, anxious, experiencing menstrual cramps, and even getting a little aroused.
1. Pregnancy Mega Mod
The first mod on this list is the biggest, can you tell by the name? The Pregnancy Mega Mod by ArtUrlWWW adds so much to pregnancy that it had to be the first one on this list.
Let’s talk about just a few of the things that are available in this mega mod:

2. Risky Woohoo
One thing that can make your sim getting pregnant feel more real is if it wasn’t planned in the first place. Since our only option is to woohoo or try for baby, it’s always known if your sim could get pregnant.
The risky woohoo mod gives you the option to do a risky woohoo where you’ll have the chance of getting pregnant more randomly and can take a pregnancy test with this instead of just with try for baby.
I’ve just always found it more fun when you can get pregnant without trying in the game to make it feel more like real life.
3. Ultrasound Mod
The Ultrasound Scan mod by Little Ms Sam is a really fun addition to the game and adds a bit of realism to your sim’s pregnancy. In this mod you’ll be able to go to the Gynaecologist which is a necessary part of any pregnant woman’s journey.
This is going to cost your sim family §75 and your pregnant sim is going to head off and be gone for 60-90 minutes. They will learn if they are having twins or triplets, and the gender of the children in their tummy.
You’ll come home with an ultrasound scan in your sim’s inventory that can be hung on any wall which makes pregnancy a lot more fun in my opinion!

4. Baby Shower Mod
A really big part of any first time parent’s experience is that they get to throw a baby shower for all their families and friends. However, The Sims 4 lacks a baby shower option in our social events.
Thankfully, modders are always making solutions to these problems. Brittpinkiesims has created a Baby Shower Mod that allows you to have a base game compatible baby shower with its own tasks and everything.
5. Stretch Marks Mod
One thing that most women who get pregnant deal with for the rest of their life is their stretch marks, and this isn’t a part of the original sims game. Thankfully, there’s a Stretch Marks Mod by Katybug273 available!
This will allow you to add stretch marks to your sims the same way you’d add a tattoo making your sims who are pregnant or have just given birth look much more real.
6. Instant Morning Sickness
Some sims players don’t like to know right away that their sim is pregnant but this is often ruined by the uncomfortable moodlet that sims get a few hours before they are going to throw up.
The Instant Morning Sickness mod by Polar Bear Sims is simple and just removes the uncomfortable moodlet from your pregnant sims. They may still have morning sickness, but they may not and you’ll just find out when they get a moodlet saying they’re pregnant.
7. Labor Puddles Mod
This mod may seem silly to some, however, people’s water breaking is a thing that happens in a lot of people’s pregnancies so it can really add some realism!
The Labor Puddles Mod created by Polar Bear Sims is an awesome and simple mod that will get your sim to have a nice puddle appear when they go into labour, just like if their water was breaking.
8. Pregnancy Mood Buffs
It seems like every single sim in the game is going to be generically happy about getting pregnant unless they have the hates children trait. This isn’t really realistic, most people who get pregnant aren’t going to be instantly happy about it.
The Pregnancy Mood Buffs mod by ZafiSims makes it possible for your sims to feel sad, embarrassed, tense, uncomfortable, or angry about their pregnancy!
9. Longer/Shorter Pregnancy Mod
For a lot of simmers, the length of pregnancy just isn’t enough. It’s either too long, or it’s too short. Some of us can’t wait, and some of us want to cherish that time.
Thankfully, Havem has created a mod that will change the length of your sim’s pregnancy and allow you to control the length.
10. Slice of Life
Okay, okay. Slice of Life isn’t really a pregnancy focused mod, but it is a really great one to make your game more realistic and make it more fun.
Slice of Life by Kawaii Stacie is a mod that is just focused on making your game more realistic. It adds things like changing your appearance when you’re feeling different emotions, the ability to get drunk, and so much more.
The part that I feel is going to add realism to a person’s journey to pregnancy is the fact that your sims can have their period which is a part of most women’s lives.
Final Thoughts
Pregnancy is really boring in The Sims 4 if you’re a vanilla player, thankfully these modders exist to create content that we all need and deserve. If any of these mods are no longer working or this list is outdated, please leave me a comment and I’ll be sure to update it!
Also, are there any pregnancy mods in The Sims 4 that you wish existed? I’ve always loved hearing about people’s dreams for the game.
